Product Description

The autobiographical book of the first president of Georgia reveals the complete historical panorama of the era of Soviet occupation. He - the son of a classic of Georgian literature recognized by the communist regime - had a full package of a secure life and the prospect of a successful career, but he consciously chose the path of dissidence. His youth, spent in the environment of the anti-communist underground, could not but lead him to gloomy days of persecution, arrests and imprisonment. Prison cells replaced the furnished apartments of his parents' home.

Zviad Gamsakhurdia - the most uncompromising state leader in the post-Soviet space in relation to Moscow's expansionism. For his categorical refusal of the proposal for Georgia's accession to the Russian-centric international bloc of the CIS, Moscow took revenge on Zviad - it dealt a double blow: it fanned separatist hysteria in Abkhazia and South Ossetia (which culminated in wars with official Tbilisi) of the country.

The difficult days of armed resistance on two fronts (an external war with Kremlin interventionists and defectors in the heart of Georgia) forced the Zviadists to leave the territories of Sakartvelo. The President of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, Dzhokhar Dudayev, extended a helping hand to his friend, teacher and ally from the anti-imperial bloc of the Caucasian peoples. Thus, Grozny becomes the last citadel of Georgian nationalists, led by the charismatic leader of the nation.

This work describes the turbulent and dizzying life story of the great leader of the Georgian nation with a colossal experience of forced traps and trials.
