Five years have passed since the Ukrainian Orthodox believers received the Tomos of Autocephaly. In addition to the political, Ukrainians have also formally completed the process of spiritual liberation from the Muscovite-Russian empire. However, Muscovite Orthodoxy in Ukraine does not abandon its positions. There are many reasons for this, but there is one common one - the complete "de-Moscowization" of our history, culture, and politics has not yet occurred. The full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian army has actualized and accelerated these processes - our villages and cities are freeing themselves from many Muscovite markers, including church ones.
Slowly, but understanding is coming that the same markers of Muscoviteism as the chauvinists "Pushkin" or "Tolstoy" are also Moscow saints, such as Alexander Nevsky, Andrei Bogolyubsky, or Matrona of Moscow. We need not only a theoretical refutation of dozens of church myths that have accompanied the history of Orthodoxy in Ukraine for over three hundred years, but also a practical communication of this information to people. This is precisely what this work is aimed at - it examines those issues in the development of Orthodoxy in Ukraine that are now most often the objects of manipulation by Moscow church propaganda.
