The book contains a short popular account of the events of the Ukrainian nationalist movement of the 20th century. (until 1950), tells about the stages of its development and formation. A separate section describes the genesis of nationalism, the maturation of its ideas. The description of the history of the UVO-OUN alternates with analytical reflections on the periods of their complex history and ideological issues. A significant place is devoted to the history of the UPA.
